Obviously it's not a good idea to force any animal that could have heightened sensitivity to bright light to stay out in the sun for extended periods of time. Then again I'm not sure how many people consider extended exposure to sunlight part of a standard husbandry regime for any nocturnal species. We've had albino ball pythons outside for photos (usually 15 - 20 minutes at a time) with no obvious deleterious effects.
