Male Female?

I can't find info on this anywhere... is it possible to house a male and female together year round? That is if the encolsure is large enough and they're fed seperately and all of those details, of course. I know it's best to house them seperately, just wondering if it's an option for me to use for a couple years. Thanks!

Sure you can. As long as they have everything they need and eat regular they will be fine.

Well, problems can arise. Esp. with male and female housing. Suppose you have hatchling male and female together. The males hits sexual maturity at a year old, and the second the female hits sexual maturity they mate. Now you got a 1200 gram female with eggs. She might get egg bound, or die from the strain.

Yeah, I was afraid of ending up with eggs, though I'm not concerned with Eleanor being too small. Will balls mate without all the cooling cycles that seem to be involved with breeding? I don't know much on the subject... however, housing them together is just being considered as an option in the event that I wind up with a tiny apartment next year for school.

They will. But providing a proper environment helps enduce it. It probly isn't worth risking.
