I was looking a some "old" pics of my male BP Monty Python and it hit me to see how terrible thin he was when I got him. He was over 1 year old, underfed and weak. Here are some comparison pics. The pics are taken from almost the exact position (just look at his markings, the stripe over his tail and markings right on his back) so the difference is very obvious.
Monty when we just got him on October 19th, 2002. He was 75 cm (2.4 ft) and weighted 288 grams (10 ounces).
Monty on September 19th, 2003. He's now 104 cm (3.4 ft) long and weighs 955 grams (2.1 pounds).

A wonderful comparison...
He is definitely gaining girth! If I didn't know better I'd sy he's a she from the second pic. He's definitely a cute one.

And why would you say that?

Head size and relative girth. Just commenting on how wide he's gotten.

Head size is no reliable way to tell the gender. And it's difficult to compare his growth to other BP because he was so underfed.
But it's true that he was a doubtful snake to probe. First time we got 6 scales out of him. A few months later we got 8 scales. So, it's a boy, but a "small" one

You rarely can pop an adult male. They are too strong to let you pop out his hemipenisses. You can only pop hatchlings. Adult BP have to be probed. And we did that already. He's a boy!

That's definitely a very big difference.
Very nice looking snake!
Looks like you've done a great job with him.

Thanks! I did all I could. But he did the most important job: staying alive!!!
