Cool snakes. Buddy looks very healthy. Poor little Lucy, she sure is skinny. Hope her wounds heal soon and I'm sure she'll be big & pretty. I can't believe someone stepped on her!
Nice beard, too.

Yeah Buddy is super big & healthy & lazy. The girl that bought Lucy (BTW we don't know if shes a boy or girl so if she turns out to be a boy we'll change it to Lucifer), got her from Petco on a Thursday & came in the next day on a Friday with her insides literally hanging out of her body. The girl said that she cut herself open on a sharp piece of plastic but I've watched Buddy grind his bigass body up against stuff while shedding & never come close, not to mention if Lucy had done that it would have been a nice clean cut, but the wound looked/looks blown-open, like her guts exploded out of her. Petco took her back & covered the vet bills but the girl wasn't allowed to have Lucy back. Because I've adopted a couple of snakes over the years (Buddy was the 1st, thats why I still have him, 2 of the others I've given to family/friends that wanted good Balls) Petco called me & asked if I'd be interested in taking her. They know that since I'm not a breeder & I just enjoy owning snakes that I don't mind that she's got a crooked part in her spin, a nasty scar on her belly & that her muscles in the area that she was squashed don't work. She's had a rough begining to her life & now I just want her to have a fun, easy, loving life. She eats well but she's not gaining much size but as long as she seems happy & the vets says that shes healthy I don't mind.
As for the beard, thanks! Its been growing for a while now. I cast metal for a living (like bronze sculptures) so I have to braid it a lot so I can hide it away from 2100 degree molten metal or from the TIG welder.

Poor babies! So glad they both have a safe happy home now! I love seeing videos of people handling snakes who KNOW HOW to handle snakes. You are so calm and gentle with them, which is EXACTLY how any snake needs to be handled, but ESPECIALLY one that has been through trauma. I have several friends that are both curious and terrified about my snake, but I will not let them ever hold her unless they can prove to me that they can do it without squealing and flailing around.
Kudos to you for providing a new home for two very deserving rescues. Buddy couldn't look more healthy, that is a well fed, well cared for snake!! Lucy obviously has a long road to recovery ahead of her, but she is definitely in safe and loving hands. Keep it up! Karma will catch up to you for your kindness.
