    What would you get?

I have a het albino columbian and thinknig about getting a female hypo from Bob Clark. What would I get if I bred these two together? I'm guessing some would be normal, some would be hypo, and some would be hypo het. albino? I'm not up on my boas like I am balls.

    Re: What would you get?

I'm no expert but from what I know I think half the clutch would be hypo half would be normal and they'd all have a 50% chance of being het albino. Personally, if I had a het albino, I'd buy another het or a visible albino since having a 50% ph is more or less useless but thats just my personal opinion if you want to get a hypo go for it Hope this helped.

    Re: What would you get?

Breeding a hypo to a normal het albino will give you normals that have a 50% chance of carrying the albino gene and hypos that have 50% chance of carrying the albino gene.

Your best option, if you want a hypo, is to get a hypo het albino. That way when you breed him to your female, you'll get a little more out of it. You can get hypo albinos (are those sunglows? I can't remember, I'm new to boas), albinos, hypos that have a 66% chance of carrying the albino gene and normals that have a 66% chance of carrying the albino gene.
    Under Construction.....

Exactly right! And yes, a hypo albino is a sunglow. I 3rd the idea - get a hypo het albino if you truly want to breed. Its an investment. You wont be sorry.
