    Thanks Aaron! It's going to be interesting to see what comes in the next few years as some of the genes are really understood.

    Just so many variables as no two ammies look alike. They can have the same pattern and color and then different colored eyes, or the same body and eye color and different eyes, or all the same colors and different patterns, or all the same colors and patterns with only a different head color! Exhausting! haha Definitely some polygenic traits!

    Very interesting! This leaves me in a dilemma...now I am wondering if when I find a male for my lady, if I should try and find one that looks identical to her in terms of the traits being discussed. I don't want to keep more than a couple of atb's, so now I'm torn between getting a red/orange so called "candy cane", because it has the looks I like, or a nice heavy patterned orange male with orange belly...at least I have time to decide!     Go with whatever you're interested in! You can always do breeding loans to pair up animals with similar traits. Better off liking what you have rather than being forced into a particular decision.
