Unfortunately these petitions have been circulating and have proven not to yield results. It's still good to sign them ,but there are better ways to deal with the ban at this point.

While I understand you good intentions multiple petitions have already been posted multiple times regarding the USFWS rule change overturn (this one included).........sadly this is a waste of time and energy the only thing that be done now regarding this specific matter is a LAWSUIT.

I'm always signing petitions. I did notice that signing this one and the others for the python ban may not be effective. I just thought maybe it's worth another shot. If it's not that's fine too.

There are way too many petitions going around. The petitions are false hopes. There is no way enough signatures will be aquired on any one petition. I hate to say it but we are bent over a barrel on this one. This ban stinks of so many agendas. And dont get it twisted this about controlling our industry.

    From the mouth of USARK:

"The federal action and the actions at the state level have very little to do with one another. Federal is about invasive species. The states are jerk knee reaction to Zanesville Ohio incident, and fall into the category of Dangerous Animal Legislation; two completely different things.

USARK is NOT losing sight of the need to protect the states of OH, IN, VA and SC. We will NOT be spending resources necessary for state level fights on a federal lawsuit to overturn the 4 species listed on the Lacey Act. If USARK decides to pursue a federal lawsuit we will raise the money outside of (and above and beyond) the money needed for operating and preforming the mission we have so successfully fulfilled for 4 years at the state level.

This is NOT a vast state federal conspiracy to eliminate the Herp Industry. Some events play off of and encourage some actions... and other actions are completely unrelated. "

With all these states now following suit after Florida, it's looking like this is going to end up before the Supreme Court sooner or later.

The petitions sure can't hurt and may be used as supporting evidence if/when it goes to court that "the people" really don't want these pieces of legislation and that the facts really don't give any credence to the opposition's argument.

    I love the Honey Badger!

We need a cute Python mascot like that!

What did Florida do? Did Florida pass something? Please tell me what Florida did.

What's going to the Supreme Court? What are you talking about?

Barely 5000 people have signed that stupid useless petition. A petition that USARK stated was useless. 5000 people out of an estimate 7 million reptile owners. WOW!

    For the last time:

    - No legislation was passed.

    - A rule change was made to an existing Act by the USFWS.

    - The evidence that was used to make the rule change can be challenged in Federal Court, which is NOT the Supreme Court.

    - You can still own the species targeted by the rule change. You just can't import them or cross state lines with them.

    - The petition is worthless. USARK has even said so.

Are you clear on this now? We don't need a mascot, we need people who can understand what is going on.
