    The 1% Idea

A fellow on one of the Facebook groups came up with a interesting idea on how we may fund USARK's efforts to bring a lawsuit to fight the python ban.

It's really quite simple--if we give 1% of proceeds from reptile sales to USARK, it will all add up to quite a lot.

Given how much prices can change with simple haggling, 1% is nothing to most of us individually, but it could make a big difference, particularly when it's in addition to other regular donations.

I'm planning to implement this myself, immediately.

OH! That's a great idea! I've dabbled in graphic design for some years now and would love to contribute a design for a t-shirt. All profits (minus the cost to make the shirts) would go to fight the ban. Sound fair?

I'm trying to put aside all of my tips at work. Usually I save tips in order to donate them to a worthy cause or my local shelter, somewhere that needs it. Right now, it'll go to USARK.

    Sounds like a great idea.

If folks who aren't selling want to participate they could donate 1% of what they spend to buy snakes. I'm going to do that when I get my next one.
