    Shed Question.........

I am in need of an educated answer/guess here
My VPI Granite is starting her third shed in a nine week period????
I have been pairing her since early October.
This is my first year breeding and I have watched a bunch of the videos to palpate but honestly dont think I will know what I am feeling till there are eggs.
She is up to about 2600g but I am also not seeing and of the "puff puff butt" either.
This girl has also never missed a meal until two weeks ago.
So am I looking at a possibly gravid girl or just getting my hopes up?

    Re: Shed Question.........

3 sheds in 9 weeks seems way too much or almost not even normally possible for a girl that size,it seems to take almost over a week for them to get thru their blue phase then almost another week before the old skin actually comes off.
Excessive shedding could be brought on by mites or other parasites or burns even.

I don't think they really have a puffed butt till they are near their lay date.
You could take a guess by the last time she has ate, 1 missed meal is little early to say she has gone off feed if she refuses meals a couple more times then that might be a conformation.

Already looked her over, no bugs at all or any other visual problems. Already thought of that too.
    It is weird though.
She chows every friday so if she doesnt eat tomorrow then it will be 3 meals missed but I'm not worried about that as she has good size to her.

Do you think she ovulated? Girls shed really weird when they are going through the breeding stages. 3 sheds in 9 weeks doesn't seem terribly off. I had girls shed 2 weeks after their last shed last year, and if you had another 7 weeks to that I'm sure there was a shed some time in there, that's almost two months.
