    She Is Here :)

My new female BP arrived this morning at about 10:30. She is now safely tucked away in her new home. This whole getting a snake shipped to me went great for the most part; however, there were two things that bothered me: 1) she was 68 deg when she got here (had heat packs that were about 95, so I dont know why????) 2) she was shipped DHL. I was so excited about her arriving today that i have been sitting in the living room since 7 waiting to hear a knock at the door. I can hear outside very well since my apartment is located in a quiet place, and I hear what I thought was a car pulling up so I looked outside and see the DHL truck pullling off. THEY JUST LEFT HER ON THE DOORSTEP, NO KNOCK OR DOORBELL. That really got me kinda mad, looks like I will never ship DHL.

Sorry for such a long post......here are the pictures(these are the best pictures I could get):

I got her from loki herpetology (I saw a post on fauna) in Virginia. She is a CB hatchling from early last year, she weights about 500 grams, and is a really nice size girl. I cant wait to put some more meat on her .

thanks for the reminder to change my sig.

Since it is 100% against DHL's policy to ship snakes, calling them won't do much good.

thanks adam, I did not know that....maybe I should get my snakes from someone who ships with a company that allows snake shipments next time.

It certainly helps ... I've heard horror stories about snakes being caught in east bum screw hundreds of miles from both shipper and receiver because a DHL station manager discovered a box with a snake in it (they have the right to open and inspect packages) .... From what I hear, DHL's policy when this happens is to call the receiver and say "come get your snake".

Sometimes even though the shippers local DHL office is "totally cool with it", that doesn't mean some hard a$$ along the way won't try and stop the shipment. Not to sound like a cheerleader, but shipping via FedEx or air cargo are certainly the ways to go!

i just looked at the shipping box.....It has "keep at 75*" written on the side... ok

....the DHL delivery man probably saw Snake written on the box, dropped it and ran...thats why I never heard a knock...

i wonder the tape was half torn off on one side...maybe someone did open it...god only knows.
