MDF Tips?
I am building a huge cage 6' x 4'. I have everything constructed and reafy. But i am at a loss for a safe, effective way of sealing and painting the board. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry on my phone so im trying to keep it short. It will house a uromastyx on the bottom, and my two BPs on the top. Along with the mice/rats stored underneath the whole thing.

Interesting, I think we need some pictures
As for sealing I've heard that a good polyurethane paint is best.

2x poly urethane I like colors in plastic personally it needs to cure fully at least 48 hours in a warm place with lots of air flow.

polyacrylic, its like waterbased polyurethane so not near as toxic.

Isnt it best to avoid watery based products for fiberboard? Never used this stuff before so im a complete newbie..

Generally yes it causes it to swell. Polyurethane is harder wearing and there is a lot of sliding on the shelf surface.
If you want the best of both a liner polyurethane cures fast and is rock hard it is inert when cured. It is also quite expensive I think about 60-70$ a quart. Great suff however one shot one coat it is two part and once mix it is going to turn to solid plastic and there is no stopping it. I have used the system 3 version it is a great product.

Polyurathane it is. Now do they have different colors to choose from, or could i add a coat of paint of my choice after i coat it in polyurathane?
