Heat Tape vs Heat Cable for Incubator

    Hey guys,
I recently picked up a couple of large beverage coolers like you see in gas stations, the free standing type, and am converting them to incubators. I was curious if it makes a difference whether to use heat tape or heat cable. I have some heat tape but a couple of fellow breeders I know use heat cable. I am not concerned about cost just want to use the right stuff. Let me know what you think!
    Thanks,
    Dave

I'd go with heat tape I think that it works better than heat cable

I use heat cable in all my racks and in my incubator with great success. The only experience I have with heat tape is someone gave me a small rack with heat tape and a on/off Tstat. The heat tape jumps up real fast and gets too hot with this type of thermostat before it shuts off and in return gets too cold before coming back on. I believe this to be the fault of the tstat and not the heat tape tho. If I were to ever use heat tape in anything I would make sure it was controlled by a proportional thermostat. Which you should have for your incubator anyway.
