I would say a pinkie is probably too small a prey item. start with either hopper mice or fuzzy rats. Definitely give more time to settle in. No handling, basically only go in the enclosure if you need to clean or change water. Then you should be good. Boas have a strong feeding response. You won't typiclly have problems with them feeding like you do with balls. Good luck, and let's see some pics.

Like everyone else has said, definately wait about a week. I picked up a 3 month old Hoggie also and she fed the first day. Tried feeding the next week and found out she was in shed and didn't take the 2nd feeding. If she doesn't take a feeding after waiting a week, check your Hog's eyes for cloudyness. I find it harder to tell if a boa is shedding compared to ball pythons, until you start seeing them go blue. Just a possibility considering your Hoggie is just as young as mine.

    Re: Feeding my baby Hog

All of my boas have eaten the first day they came in, I had a 2011 that doesn't touch anything that isn't already dead. I tried a live pink when he got here and he seemed uninterested and scared of it, I tried one that wasn't living 5 mins later and he's been eating like clock work ever since. Have you tried offering anything other than live?

I have tried, a rat pink, a f/t mouse, a live mouse hopper so far. Right now I am just giving him more time to settle.
