    Is this name copy written?

Well I play on getting some more morphs and to breed them also get lots of other reptiles like burms, retics, GTPs, boas, monitors, lizards, etc. And I was planning to call my business either East Coast Reptiles or East Coast Herp in a couple or few years when I am established because anywhere I move to I can still use that since I don't plan on leaving the east any time soon. What I was wanting to know is your opinions on which one is better and more like-able. I saw East Coast Reptiles has a facebook page and on the page it says local business but they don't have any other website that I know of. And yes I know about East Coast Reptile Supply but their url is eastcoastreptile.com no S. So is either one of these names being used for a legitimate business and more importantly is either one copy written? Also I will not be using this account any more, will be using one of these names so I don't have to switch later.

To find out if a certain name is a trademark or not you will need to do the appropriate research http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?...008:i0l4j0.1.1

I wouldnt really worry about business names until you are actually producing and selling the animals you are wanting to work with. You may also want to check state tax laws regarding promoting yourself as a business

they may not be copy written but i remember when a squabble happened over something similar before. just because one does not have an "s" doesnt mean that they cant sue you. if you are selling the same product then they can still sue you. its happened before in the reptile world. email jeff barranger or look up old threads on a an older forum.

either one sounds good, to me, having "Herps" at the end implies there will be amphibians too, but i wouldnt necessarily be dissapointed to see that you didnt have any, so they both sound good to me

I think you might want to reconsider your buisness name. A quick google search shows that East Coast Reptiles is already being used by a couple of people and if you ever want a web site you can't get eastcoastherps.com because someone is already using that domain.

Thank you and I think I will use East Coast Herp since eastcoastherps.com is taken or I could use East Coast Herps and just use ECH.com as my domain. I'd like to do amphibians too am I probably will but I don't know much about amphibians and I do extensive research daily on reptiles.

What do you suggest? Also I could use East Coast Herp since eastcoastherp.com isn't taken or I could go with East Coast Herps and just use ECH.com as my domain.
