    - NOT a pastel
    - stuck shed
    - scarring, likely from rat bites

I'd say that snake is worth negative $50.

The brown areas are identical looking to my granites. I think it might be a new line, but the fading might mean it's a super granite.

Looks like most of the "scars" are on the top. This could be burns from a heat lamp or something. I do agree that he has a very nice pattern but the condition of the snake seems to be pretty bad.

From what I saw of the snake in person ( I am the op's roommate and was there) what a majority of you are saying are scars only seemed to be stuck shed. I dont know for a fact as I am by far no expert and did not handle the snake as he did.

I dont LIKE supporting crap petstores that dont know enough about their animals to even sell them correctly. But if I find a possible good deal on a sweet morph I would jump on buying it. Having said that, an INTENSE QT would be needed after purchase. As long as the snake seemed visibly healthy (no symptoms of visible RI or mites) I would purchase it.

Your snake does have some intense scarring. The stuck shed can be fixed with proper husbandry. He seems well fed, not thin looking. I think with the right care you could have a neat snake and this could be a good deal for you if you plan to breed. Just get us some better natural light photos so we can confirm the morph. And if we cant you'll just have to breed him to prove him out!

i doubt it is a new line of anything. Agreed though, don't support places like that. That is only promoting them to purchase more for resale. Confront him about the snake.

On the defense of the store guys this snake and some others where brought to the store in this condition by a woman who fell ill and could not take care of her snakes anymore. Now the boas they had that they raised looked in amazing shape. Only real issue we saw with husbandry was humidity was to low. The snake was brought to them as "pastel" I know the guy was open about the fact he does not like snakes and his wife handles them who had left shortly before our arrival.

i dunno, still seems sketchy to me.

if you know it's not a pastel wouldn't you label it as "unknown morph?"

just seems like the right thing to do. getting a stuck shed off can usually be accomplished with one simple soak and a bath towel.

i'd be willing to take a snake like that for free if the store doesn't have any interest in rehabilitating it, and especially if one of them is squeemish about it. but if they gave the woman who fell ill any money for these snakes, that they didn't want and weren't that interested in then they're not the smartest pickles in the jar.

if you're running a business why not have the best, most well-cared for animals on display for sale?
