I know there are a lot of these but... Black Pastel or not???

May just be wishful thinking but my female that I bought as a normal posible granite just shed. After she shed (mind the little shed left) I started thinking black pastel.

She has some linked alien heads, minor blushing and her head is light brown. All of my other normal females have dark colored heads. Her belly is also clean with no black but like a sandy colored stripe down the center.

I apologize in advance for the pictures as I was using my cell phone but I took several so you can see different lighting ect.

Even if she is not a black pastel still super thrilled with her just thought I would ask as she will be breeding this year and who wouldnt love a shot at super blacks?

Anyway thank you for your time forum, as alaways your comments are appreciated.

The first picture alone makes me say No, the pattern is all wrong. The last picture shows a wonderful black color, but it looks like a normal. Check out pics of black pastel on websites and you'll see what I mean about the pattern.

The pattern is great though, so good luck with it!

Re: I know there are a lot of these but... Black Pastel or not???

I have looked at literally 100+ pictures of black pastels and every one is defferent. I have seen lower end black pastels that looked similar so thats why I asked.

I will probably end up putting her with a black pastel anyway just for the heck of it.

I think she's a normal, but she's got some GREAT genes, and I'm sure will compliment a black pastel nicely!!

Looks like a normal to me too, but definitely a pretty dark girl.

No, not a black pastel. But dark, and some sign of being something. A bit of a sable/granite look. I'd be more interested in seeing if she produced kids that looked like her when bred to a normal. And if so, if there was a super version.

I definitely think this would make a great black pastel pairing.

Lower end black pastels shouldn't look like that, but be lighter. That's why I mentioned pictures. Unfortunately there are people out there that advertise normals as things they may not be.
