    Shedding problems.

I have noticed that my pastel nzuri turned blue about a week ago, I waited and watched at his eyes cleared up so I knew any day he would shed. Well I keeo coming home to no shed in the tub, I noticed Sunday evening that the skin on his nose was starting to peel up, yet it is now Tuesday and there has been no progress made. I'm really worried about him as he is my first ball, my garter has perfect sheds everytime, but thats a garter not a bp. My humidity is about 72% and still nothing. The contents of the tub are a cardboard hide box made from a sodapop box, a water dish, and my accurite. Should I add something else to rub on? When I picked him up this morning to clean his tub I noticed he seems really dry and his skin wrinkles easily which is what I imagine he should feel like but I'm not sure....so if anyone can help that would be great.

    Thanks.
    Kevin

    Re: Shedding problems.

Sounds kinda normal to me but I am still new to snakes as well if it is just starting my little guys skinn gets really dry and crinkley sounding the next day or so he leaves me a shed. You could try soaking in a shallow bath of 80 ish degree water to help him loosen up a little.

Yeah sometimes he can need something else to rub on. Does he spend any time in his water dish because this can effect his shed too. I'd give him something to run on, up his humidity a little bit and give him some more time. I leave my guys humidity between 75-80 as well when he's in blue.

    Cheers,

What would you recomend to rub on? Like a sterilized rock or something? I never see him anywheres but his hide, but I usually only home in the morning. So I don't know what he does at night. Ill check later after work and see where he is at.

You could try a humid hide. Giving the hotside hide more wetness under it like moss or something. It sounds like the humidity may be reading ok in a particular spot. But where the snake Is staying it's not ok. He shouldn't need anything to rub on. It should roll of easily.
