    Sick baby ball puthon

We have a baby ball approx 5 months old seems to have become very inactive. He has not pooped and looks bloated? He ate about a week ago. Any ideas?

I've heard soaking can help with constipation. Does he have any other symptoms other than being inactive? Ball pythons aren't exactly active species to begin with.....

What do you mean by he never fully completed his first shed? Like he had a bad shed that didn't come off? What is your setup like...maybe I can help you fix the humidity problem?

soak the snake in shallow warm water for 30 mins each day till it poops. Once that happens work on getting the shed off best you can.

    Re: Sick baby ball puthon

He has been shedding for over a month. He just has bits& pieces left all over. Our cage set up is basic heat and night lamps, large dish for water, hiding rock and sticks for climbing. When we first got Nico he was active at night and pretty social. Now he seems to just hide. I will try the soaking. This a whole new experience for us and I am hoping we are not causing harm to him

The soaking should help with the stuck shed, I've had to do it a couple times fr a bad shed here and there. I'd check out the caresheet to be sure your husbandry is all correct, temps and all. I am almost certain the heat lamps are causing the bad humidity. Most people do not need lamps, only a UTH with a thermostat. I only use lamps in the winter, and they are always on a dimmer.
