    Irain jaya carpet python

Ok so I just got an offer from a guy wanting to trade me his Irain jaya carpet for my boat. I kinda want to but the snake is four feet long, he says it's not aggressive or anything but still not sure. He comes with a cage the is 3x2x4. Just wondering if any body. Has an opinion on IJ's I have never dealt with them so I'm not sure about it. The guys husbandry doesn't seem too good either so Id like to get the snake because I kno I can take care of it right. Any opinions are helpful. I kno there's not really any q's but yea.

Doubt it's a fair trade an IJ is not really expensive compare to a boat (well of course I guess it depends on the boat ), you will generally find IJ from $150 to $500 depending on sex , quality and size.

Not sure what other snakes you own but carpets are intelligent snakes very inquisitive and very aware of their surrounding unlike BP.

I only have one Bp. Thank you for your post. How can I convert this guy to rats the owner said he feeds three or four mice a week and I already have my Bp on rat pups? Once I get a few more I will begin breeding rats.

That will be the tricky part carpets are very hard to switch to rats which is why a lot of breeders will start them on rats to avoid that problem.

You will likely have to try to trick him anyway you can (using old mice bedding is where I would start)

Will that 4x3x2 cage be big enough or will I have to get another one?

It's a good size cage for an IJ no need to get anything bigger.
