    Anyone know about pidgins?

I have this Juvenile(?) pidgin that was hopping around my yard. She doesn't seem to know how to fly yet and I live on pretty much a freeway and I have dogs in the back yard so she is in a cat carrier in my reptile room chillin.

I'm working a horrible schedule and won't be able to take her to project wildlife for a couple days and was wondering if she was old enough to eat and drink on her own. I mean, she's pretty much a full grown pigeon besides not flying yet and peeping still haha

You can run by a petstore and buy some dove mix seeded bird food.
For the time being that would be fine. Just offer him other pieces of greens and breads, just see what he eats.

Pigeons are actually very smart creatures and can make awesome pets.
We have a pet pigeon that we rescued. His leg is forever deformed and we can never release him again, were ok with that though cuz hes our little friend who follows us around the house.

Just keep him hydrated and he should be just fine until you can take him to the animal center.

I thought I'd share some pictures of our pigeon "Ratbird".
We found him on the curb in an underpass and his leg was all messed up. He was an ugly juvey and didnt look good. We nursed him back to health and he was just as young as yours looks, now hes super friendly and follows us around the house. Hes just such a funny guy to watch explore the house.

    Heres Ratbird in his diaper

    Ratbird on my boyfriends shoulder

And Ratbird flying to me from my boyfriend

If a pigeon fits into your home they really are a joy, at least mine is
And those diapers are super cool!

Also I wanted to add that we keep ours in a guinea pig cage, seems to work well since they arent much of branch perching birds. Ours loves to hop up and down off the platform.
