They look evil but this one is as laid back as a Ball Python , my other girls are all about huff and puff , they'll hiss like crazy but it's all bluff (but I guess for someone that doesn't know it would work)

I Thinking About some nice colorful colubrid as Display Animal.. and Actually I'm thorn between gopher and bull snake and Taiwanese beauty snake... I read that bulls and Taiwanese beauty grow HUUUGE and in case of my small place that could be a problem.
Do you have experience with gophers as well ???
If yes witch one are more Handle-able ??

Let's put it this way if you have room for a BP you have room for a Bull or a Gopher they grow much bigger but are not as heavy bodied.

I house mine in racks (I am not much of a display person) and I use the same size rack for my BP and Colubrids (I also own Honduran Milksnakes) - I use a 41 quarts rack.

Gophers like Bulls are a subspecies in the Pituophis Catenifer species and they can reach 7 feet.

If you are really looking into a small colubrid species have you look into California Kingsnakes or even smaller Western Hognoses?

Deb I'm not in to Kings or Milks... Hognoses are not my think either...
As far as small colubrids go I found my new Addiction African House Snakes for the WIN !!!!

I was Thinking about something fair size (but not enormous ike 10 feet pine snake or Taiwan beauty) what I could handle by myself and nice looking and honestly this red bull looks Very very Impressive.

Do You think That 40 gallon breeder tank will be sufficient for whole Life of that animal ??

And with grows bigger males of females ??
