Has anybody seen markings like this??
I bought this female from a expo 5 or 6 years ago. The person I bought her from had two that looked the same both females. When I bought her she was really bright almost pastel bright and then over the years she darkened alot. She has markings around her head area. The markings didnt show up until a year or two after I had her her. Im wondering if the rest of her darken and those spots stayed there.

Re: Has anybody seen markings like this??
I have seen some people post picture of their snakes like that but my guess would have been stress from over time. But would be cool to be Genetic. looks like a paradox normal in my eyes.

And yes, I have seen some markings like that before. I don't know what it means, or if it means anything. Maybe someone else can help you when I get the pics up.

seen quite a few pictures of this now, pigment fades, appears to happen randomly, its not a morph.

I forgot to say she is a wild caught

I'm sure it's normal. The female I rescued has several scales along her back that are that exact cream color. Yours clearly has many more scales with that color than mine.

I have a female that lost her entire body pigmentation.. it happens.. I was told it could have been a bad batch of rodents. Her colour has since, slowly been coming back.

One of my females, a few years back, did the same thing. It almost looked like certain spots on her body was bleached. I took her to my vet, not knowing at all what it could be ( skin infection, nutrition problem, etc ) and he had said to me that he has only seen it in two other animals, one a boa and the other a ball. The only thing to him where all three of these circumstances were related is that they were all female and all coming to "breeding age". His guess was that it was something hormonal. Now I breed all my own feeders so we were able to weed that out, and I keep all my animals in pristine conditions so that was also weeded out. She has since got all her regular color back ( and breeding like a champ! ) though she did look pretty wicked with those bleached out areas....lol.
I will have to dig thru my photos and see if I can post them for ya. Hope I was any help
Oh and I don't know if this has any relation, since you mentioned she was wild caught, my female was a grab bag girl. So maybe theres a connection there??
