I'm sure it depends on the individual person's personality. You can't group all breeders as one. Though they are in the same profession/hobby, they are still individuals. One may be the sweetest person you've ever met and the next may be the biggest snob.

Are you looking to buy? If so I'd hope she would set aside some time to meet you.

Alot of hobby/breeders have regular life to deal with, so keep that in mind.
I have had people call to want to come for feeders or pick up a snake, while I'm in the middle of cooking dinner etc.
    Check out what's available at

So are you offering dinner with your snakes and feeders?

I know some breeders also are very picky about who gets in to see their collections. Some are over the concern of bugs, bacteria, and viruses being carried in. Others are trying to be careful and make sure animal rights groups don't come in and video tape stuff then dramatize something. Then you have the ones that don't like to meet customers at their home due to personal safety or if it is a crook they may try and break in at a later point if they know where the animals are kept.

All of these are concerns breeders have to consider. We allow some people in, but for the most part if some one is looking for an animal we allow them to come over, but bring out the stuff we have available that they may be interested in. We don't let everyone in the actual snake room.

If you feel put off by the breeder, go elsewhere. There are a ton of great breeders out there. If a breeder does not have time for me,then they don't deserve my money.

So has she offered to let you come by and look at a couple of spinners? Or are you asking to come by or meet up and she's "busy"?
