What the heck?

Ok, so, in 2009 I hatched out a clutch from my lesser platinum male, and a very large, dark female. The clutch was strange from the moment of hatching. Both of the females in the clutch (most of the clutch was male) had deformities, so I thought that perhaps there had been an incubation temperature spike. Many of the undamaged animals showed granite markings, with one male in particular having classic genetic granite looks. I held him back.
The next year, I rebred the female to the same male, to make certain that the cause of the problems hadn't been genetic. All of the offspring were fine, including the females (it was a large clutch, too).
This past season, I bred my holdback granite male to a dark female.

The first hatchling out of the clutch is a female...with spector markings. 0_o
Now, I've been studying up on spectors, because I'd like to get into a spector project. This girl has a neck stripe with a spot in it, she has one or more donuts, including attached to the back stripe, she had alien heads with large spots and small dots.

So, is something really weird going on in this bloodline, and I hit the jackpot...or is she proof of my granite line? Or is she just a normal, and all of these snakes are teasing me?

I don't know anything about spectors, so sorry I have no help with that, but its definitely an interesting project! thanks for sharing

It looks granitey to me as well. Granites have such generic markers that many fit them, it has the markers for it but is different somehow as well. I can't wait to see it in a shed or two.

You could hit Recessive Genetic Granite line... of course that mean that lesser and your both of your females must be hets... and that will be lottery shot but i heard about more impossible thing happening in balls breeding...
In Your Case I'll Hold that Female and breed her to father and see what will happen...
