    Sugar Glider Substrate?

Were trying to figure out a better substrate to use for our sugar glider. Weve been using aspen but he usually just stinks it up quickly and hes very messy in it.
He doesnt sit on the bottom much, of course he loves his climbing and his hammock.
Just wondering what other people use for their sugar gliders?

We never used any substrate for ours. We kept ours in a 5ft tall cage with levels and the bottom had a slide out tray. We lined it with newspaper or paper towels and changed it out once a day to once every other day. Sugar gliders are naturally just a little smelly. Kind of like ferrets.
    Under Construction.....

We use newspaper as well on a pull out tray and remove daily and spray down to clean. If you are not breeding getting him neutered will help with the marking/scenting and his glands should eventually minimize for the most part. When we retired our breeding groups the smell got quite a bit better, but as mentioned previously they always have a certain amount of smell to them. Totally cute tho

Ya i think of him smelling like a monkey lol
I suppose newspaper would be fine...easier to clean daily.
He is mostly up on his levels and doesnt come to the floor much.
    thanks guys!
