    Receiving question

I was wondering what is required of me to receive a BP that is shipped? I understand overnight shipping is definitely best and there by 10:30 am and what not, but I work 8-5 Mon-Fri... Is there a way I could just have it shipped to the fed ex office and pick it up after work? That way it is at least indoors for the day...

If I have other options then please share, I just can't think of any.

If you leave that box unopened for 24 hours straight I'm pretty certain that you'll lose the live arrival guarantee if any was offered. I certainly would refuse to even ship to you if couldn't be there to open the package immediately.

Can you have the animal shipped to you at work, to a friend, or take the day off?

Na, not likely. It was hypothetical, as I didn't really think shipping like that was a viable option.

I'll probably just keep an eye out for nearby shows or reptile shops.

Yes you can. I've shipped to Fedex offices before at the request of the receiver.

And as for the Live Arrival guarantee, it would depend on the person you were purchasing from.

So if it were shipped with enough ventilation then it would probably be ok?

If the shipper does it correctly, yes. It is fine.

Even though it would probably be OK, I could not continue working knowing that I had a new addition sitting at the FedEx office. If it were me, I would take an early lunch break, pick up the package and get in a quarantine rack. Then go back to work.

If you know the package is coming before 10:30 am and you track the package, you should be able to schedule your lunch time or time-off for pickup.

I have all my deliveries come to the FedEx/Kinkos store in my office building. They deliver straight from the airport and the FedEx shop is air conditioned. That way, the box is not sitting in a hot truck as it makes deliveries on the way to my house.
