uh oh, somebody got a haircut!

Apollo, my Maine Coon, has been a pain in the rear for years and was getting worse with combing. It reached the point of having to muzzle him to demat him every time. I was getting tired of it, so I brought him to work with me to sedate him and give him a goofy haircut. It's kind of a lion cut, but not quite. I'm no groomer, so I know he looks a little silly!

    Sedated:

DAAAAANG i knew main coons got big but he's a beast, haha.
that kinda reminds me of the what our st. bernard would look like after my dad got him shaved down for the summer.
grooming such a monster was not fun. having a dog with a head the size of new jersey snapping at you was kinda scary.
anyways that kitty doesnt seem to mind that he's minus 50 lbs of fur haha.

I believe this is going to happen to my little boy this summer. He seemed so miserable last summer. If you don't mind me asking, how much does it normally cost?

It depends. I work at a vet clinic, so I didn't have to pay for the shave or exam and pay half-off client cost for sedation and reversal. That still cost me just about $50. If your cat's well behaved (doesn't need sedation) and you can get it done at a groomer it would be cheaper. Our clinic charge for a client would include in-hospital exam, sedation, reversal and the actual shave, so about $170. Obviously this would vary a lot depending on the situation and location.
