let me try this another way...

is there anyone willing to let me intern for a week with venomous snakes? i can travel to you and stay in a hotel or even camp in your back yard. ill clean cages, care for feeders, feed snakes, mop, do windows, walk the dog, cook breakfast...pretty much anything to get some real on hands experience with venomous snakes.

    thanks,
    luke

To be honest, you need more than a week. I interned for 6 months before my teacher/mentor said I was ready. And I took him at his word. I felt like I was ready to be on my own. There's no way you can learn everything in a week. Too bad you don't have someone local to you to let you help out.

If you can't find someone you could always try this place. I don't even know if they are open to that kind of thing and it wouldnt be the same as working one on one but you could shoot them an email http://www.reptiland.com/

Get 2 snake hooks and start using them exclusively with your snakes. When you can handle them without any problem you'll be prepared to begin. Do you have any colubrids?
