    Testing New Macro Lens. (DUW)

The new marco lens showed up today. I picked up the Tokina 100mm f/2.8. I have had a little time to mess with it. Here are the photos, I do have a macro ring light ordered. It should be here Tuesday. Once I get that figured out, Ill try and get some better pictures.

Buckles and fabric are from a new camera bag I picked up.

It looks like it does a great job of showing all the details in those scales and the eye. I wish I had a good macro lens. Have fun with it!

Nice depth of field on the second set of pics. Looks like your going to be taking some awesome macros with that lens. Cool on the light ring. What were you using for lighting those pics, just ambient light?

Thanks, Yeah it was just ambient light. I have never really used flash that much. On the snake pictures above I just had the pop up flash on. I try not to use flash anymore than I have to. With the macro lens. It says its at 2.8, It is but it isnt. The aperture changes depend on where your focused at. If your at infinity then its 2.8. As you focus in the aperture gets smaller.

Thanks, I want to retake these using the ring flash. See how much of a difference it makes.
