    Android related (maybe) Help!

So, I have the HTC Incredible. I want to download the new Weight Watchers Mobile Beta on my phone. It's 16.37 MB. I get "Sorry, there's not enough space to install this item."

    SD Card:
    Total space: 1.84 GB
    Available space: 1.40 GB

    Internal phone storage:
    Total space: 6.60 GB
    Available space: 6.04 GB

    Phone Memory:
    Total space: 748 MB
    Available space: 448 MB

I've cleared all my Google mail, all my Google voice, I've un-installed un-used apps, I've restarted the phone, I've pulled the battery.

I REALLY want this app. I REALLY don't want to do a factory re-set if I don't have to. There's also a WW ScanCalc app that I want to load - 338 KB. I get a Download was unsuccessful, please try again message.

    Please help me!

Other background. My phone had been trying to update ALL of my apps since last night, my phone charger couldn't keep up. Went to Manage Apps, All, Download Manager and Force Stop and Clear Data to make it stop. It was only 30% done when I stopped it after it had run for over 12 hours.

    Anyone? Bueller?

I did some looking around and read that if you access the app through the browser, rather than the app store it will work for whatever reason.. They also suggest doing the following:
    Menu>Settings>Manage Applications> All >

    Select the app:

    'DRM Protected Content Storage'

    Hit 'Force Stop'

    If you have that running.

Not that this has anything to do with your issue, but the Market was updated yesterday and a lot of my apps disappeared then came back. Google's been messing around again. I only know this because I happened to see Lookout scanning the Market and declaring it safe, then Appbrain showed Market as a newly installed app.
Do you move moveable apps to your SD? That can free up some space on the phone (although you seem to have plenty) and maybe clear some memory? Have you cleared cache lately? That may or may not help, but that with a restart may do the trick...dunno...just thinking of stuff out loud. lol.
And not for nothing, what the heck is that stupid DRM protected data crap? haha, it sends a lot of data...

    Re: Android related (maybe) Help!

Thanks! Well, I was able to get rid of the initial message of not enough memory by clearing the data out of the FB app and the Dialer Data. So now it starts to try to download, but I get this message no matter WHAT I try to download now. "Download unsuccessful - please try again". Over and over and over again.

I had been troubleshooting all day online, trying to get ideas, and I've already tried all of these by Android Tech Support:

Thanks for writing in. If you receive a "Download unsuccessful" message
when attempting to download an app, please follow these steps:

    - Clear your Market cache by visiting Settings > Applications > Market >
    Clear cache
    - Restart your phone then try downloading the app again.
    - Confirm that there is connectivity on your device (contact your mobile
service provider if you aren't connected).
    - Make sure you have enough space on your device
    - Reboot your device
    - Wait 10 minutes and try your download again.

If you're still unsuccessful, let us know and we'll be happy to
investigate further. Please note that we do not support rooted devices at
    this time.
My phone is not rooted, and I'm not confident enough that a factory re-set would work. All that would do is frustrate me even more if it STILL wouldn't download (and it appears from reading others - it's hit or miss if that will work), so while ultimately, that might be what I have to do, I'm still holding out for some alternate solution.

It's interesting to also note that when I first cleared the FB data, it did start successfully downloading a bunch of updates, and even the WW ScanCalc successfully downloaded. About half way through, they stopped being successful.

And Google Maps keeps asking me to force close randomly and frequently today.

The Market has been kinda goofy for me lately. I haven't had any storage issues when downloading, but have had my share of unsuccessful downloads and updates. Sometimes downloads hang in the Market and when I hit cancel they install immediately. Hope you finally got it to work. Do you have all of your apps that allow it moved over to your sd card?
