Humidity and condesation in tub

I just got a new rack system going and i tried out newspaper and reptibark in my 15 and 30 qtz tubs. of course the reptibark tub has a higher humidity and its a constant 80%. but its wierd because theres only condensation running down one side of the tub (the front) but the substrate isnt wet at all. and teh sides and back are dry too. and i dont mist the tubs. and its already at 80%

i know i can just use newspaper. but i just dont understand how this is working lol.

so is having it at 80% all the time bad? i heard it contributes to scale rot. but only if the substrate is damp. so what about this scenario?

if your substate is dry and your temps are good there is nothing to worry about .ball pythons come from west africa where humidity is at 50 to 70 % but they are found in hides like underground rodent burrows and termite mounds where humidity is at least 80%.

Tubs often have poor ventilation and that can cause bacteria and fungal growth that in turn can lead to RI and a handful of other issues. Just give the tub a once over and evaluate if there is enough holes and if you can tell if the air is moving at all inside them.

Just give the tub a once over and evaluate if there is enough holes and if you can tell if the air is moving at all inside them.

x2 The way it is now may lead to an RI so I'd make sure you keep adding holes until the condensation is gone.

I am by no means an expert but I heard that maybe if you drill 1/8" holes if your tub(I would start with 2), it will take out the humidity and allow you to lower it. If you have already drilled holes, maybe add more till it drops. Reptibark holds in alot of humidity. I am no expert but that is what I read.
