Humidity to high?

Alright so I'm a nut when it comes to making sure the humidity is on point. I use ceramic bowls in all of my tubs. I find it some times they still manage to knock out water then the humidity shoots to about 80-85. I normally will take out the bedding and re do it for them.

I was wondering is to high of humidity unsafe for the ball pythons? I have no problem doing the rout. I'm doing but anything to save some money where I can always helps "buying another snake " lol

Depends.... how long does it stay at 80%? If its just spiking but comes back down over the course of an hour its not a big deal. I keep a portable heater in my snake room cause its cooler downstairs in it, but because it eats up the humidity. I mist the substrate in my tubs every evening since my humidity will drop everyday from 60% down to 40%. Price to pay but for now its what I gotta do.

yah all there tubs are always maintained at 60-65 its just if they spill water mostly. I'm not worried about the cold weather because I went with belly heat and ceiling heat in the fornt on my rack. The front is set for 75 to make sure the heat stays in the rack and help maintains a steady temp

I don't think any problems would arise from the (occasional) 80% humidity, but from the wet substrate, e.g. scale rot.

O yah I know that I change out the tubs 1 a week or more if the shed or digest food. Def wouldn't leave there tubs wet for a long period of time like that.

High humidity could cause scale rot if they are sitting on wet bedding all the time.

Your ceramic bowls are too small if the snakes are knocking them over. I use ceramic souffle bowls for the smaller bps, and give the larger ones plastic dog bowls. They need to be the bowls that fan out at the bottom. This is exactly what I use, I get them for $1 at the dollar store http://www.mypetsuperstore.co.uk/ima...amine_bowl.jpg Just make sure it doesn't have the cutouts at the bottom for you to pick up, the snake can dump it over then. I like those bowls because they are big and keep my humidity up in my large tubs.

well it's mainly my female and my male. The male is 1600 G and the female right now is pushing 3,000 grams lol.

mine are heavy style dog dishes lol
