    Unhappy Rest In Peace Lucy

Her loss was a COMPLETE shock to me. She wasn't in very good shape when I bought her. Over the past 3 months she had been doing alot better and I had got her to start eating regularly. When I came home from work today she was lying with her head stuck up on the side of the tank just chilling out. I seen she had relinquished herself of her last feeding, so I got her out and put her in her future home of a tub I had fixed up for her. I was cleaning her tank and I looked over and seen that she was laying with her mouth open and she looked like she was gasping for air and pulsing her body like she couldnt breathe. The tub was well ventilated so she should have been fine. I hurried up and changed the substrate and filled her water back up and put her back in her tank so she could straighten herself out. She just continued to struggle and started racing around. After a minute or two she just laid over. She twisted around and then turned upside down and that was it. It was VERY painful to watch, but there was nothing I could do. I feel so bad because it was just terrible and I couldn't do anything to help her. Lucy was my first snake and its just hard not to imagine her being here anymore. I wrapped her in a paper towel and put her in a box. I went outside and buried her. Ill always remember and miss you Lucy. it just won't be the same without you being here to hold and play with. You will be severely missed . You were one day shy of getting to use the herpstat and flexwatt I got for you. Ill have to tell my 3 year old niece and 2 year old nephew that you went to live with santa with Hercules. We love you Lucy and Everyone will always remember you.

Your story reminds me of when my hamster died. She started to move after being still for the longest time, and I thought she was recovering. Then she started to race around, so I scooped her up and held her to my chest as she slowly stopped moving...

    Sorry for your loss.
