So who is planning to switch to Verizon for their iPhone?

Since Verizon will begin selling the iPhone 4 on Feb 10th, who's planning on switching?
Main differences are that AT&T's version is a true world phone and has simultaneous voice and data. Verizon's is straight up CDMA just like most of their phones. AT&T's data plan is also cheaper as it starts at $15/mo. Their $25 data plan covers almost everyone's usage so unlimited is negated except for a small percentage of users.
There will be a new iPhone in a few months so I think people that jump on it early will have buyer's remorse.

I think once my contract is up I will consider changing simply for the unlimited data package. It'll be interesting to see if Verizions network starts suffering from the same bottle necks that AT&T does due to the amount of data that Iphone's receive and transmit.. I will for sure be keeping an eye on them..

Have you looked at how much data you actually use? I have a feeling that unlimited data is coming back anyway. Data speeds on Verizon will be slower on the current 3G models. Once they both have LTE it'll be about the same.
Verizon's network will buckle for sure. I think people will think the grass is greener and switch only to be saddened a few months later.

Re: So who is planning to switch to Verizon for their iPhone?

I've had At&t before iphones, but since switching to Verizon I have never had any problems. Not with service, bill, insurance claims on my phone etc. I usually have service when other friends with at&t dont. I may spend a bit more, but I think it's worth it to have reliable signal no matter where I am. I have admired the iphones but because of the service I get with Verizon, I'll be a loyal customer for a while. I'm doing fine with my blackberry storm but will consider a droid when I can upgrade again!

Re: So who is planning to switch to Verizon for their iPhone?

Sticking with Android, love my Moto Droid.
I don't really think the network will take a bit hit, at least I hope not. For now, at least, I think most will stick it out on ATT...there are contracts that are pricey to get out of and the new iPhone 5 coming in the summer. More current VRZ users will pick up the iPhone than ATT converts I think, and even those numbers will be relatively small (due to new iP5). This was really an odd time to bring it over when you think about it.
I read a while back (don't recall where) that Android users use more data than iPhone users anyway, VRZ has handled the huge influx of Androids well to date.

I think the difference between their iPhone and Android is that they don't have 3 million new customers coming in all at once. I think that VZW will probably see that many new users in the first 45 days or so. After that it will slow down as the phone itself is far from new tech and the new dual core monsters will steal lots of Apple's thunder.
AT&T is coming on strong with Android very soon and they will end up with the best overall smartphone selection.
Moto Atrix will be the most powerful phone in the world and it's coming to AT&T......most powerful for at least a week. lol

The HTC Thunderbolt will be the phone to beat. The iPhone currently is nowhere near it.
