    Male Glowing

A while back someone posted about a male glowing due to hormones. I thought that was the coolest thing but had never seen any of my males do it until tonight. I went in to change water and saw my pastel. Normally his color is more on the yellow side and he's not an awesome example of a pastel. I consider him a good example but not a great example. When I opened his tub, his head was several shades lighter and what is normally a dull yellow is now a creamy whitened yellow.

While I did use flash on these photos, this is actually a true representation of his color and now lightened head. I think he is very handsome! He's been breeding with my pinstripe.

Nope, I'm 100% sure he's a male. And the female he is with is starting to glow as well. And she's getting bigger. I'm going to palpate today but the last time I did so (about a 1-1.5 weeks ago) I didn't feel anything.

She has follicles! I tried breeding her last season and she didn't take. This time she's got follicles so I really hope things go well. She just downed a meal so she's not going off feed yet. The follicles are a little under marble size.
