Is this normal.... i fed my new boa again and she freakin grabbed the mouse, elevated it a good 6 inches, then slammed it to the ground and curled it up..!? niceeeeee. boas are freakin strong, she can lift her body weight up when i'm holding her near the tail.

My boa just bit me and it was adorable.... but i dont know why she bit me... I couldn't say it hurt at all, more like a needle poking me, if that... then she held her mouth open trying to scare me for a few seconds, then gave in and was all nice again...! lol

Did your hands smell like rodent when you were handling her? She was possibly still in feeding mode after eating and mistook your hand for prey, whether you smelled like food or not.

The gaping on the other hand, that may have been because she was frightened. Baby snakes take some time to calm down, they are often nippy as babies but calm as adults.

And yes, your first post seems normal, constrictors are very strong for their size.

I sanitize my hands after touching the mouse..... i kind of touched her from behind, near her neck area.... must of startled her. but it wasn't anywhere as bad as i was dreading, lol... no cuts/marks on me

I suggest using a snake hook, or something similar, to pick them up, and then transfer your boa to your hands. This will greatly decrease the chance of you being bit.

I'd add that the smell of rodent is quite strong and a proper wash with soap and water maybe needed remember that snakes sence of smell is as good or better than a dogs, and way better than yours alcohol and perfume may not cover mouse smell to them.
