Partial Collection Update and New Addition!

It's been a while since I posted updates on my very small collection, so I thought I'd grab the 3 that weren't in shed and show them off a little.

Here's my 2008 Pinstripe girl, Petra. She's sometimes a picky feeder, but she's really been picking up the pace lately. Here she is helping me study for my zoology exam.

Oh, and look, Valentine wants to help too! (2008 female Pastel, hoping to breed her this season!)

And my favorite, even if he does like to throw hissy fits, is my 2009 male Spider, Ainmire. This boy pounds down anything I want to feed him, but he's always on the move, so he keeps his svelte figure.

Side view. I LOVE low-white spiders, and this guy really rocks out the low-white. I'm hoping he'll pass it on.

Outdoor shot. I wish I could catch his color on camera...he's not high-gold, but more like this beautiful creamy color. I think he'll make some incredible leserbees someday!

    Thanks for looking everyone...

...Oh wait! What's this? Someone sent me a box??

    A box full of newspaper??

Oh, right, it's the incredible proven breeder male fire I ordered. Duh!

I picked up this guy from Jeff Byers, and he just arrived this morning. He's super sweet even after being carted around in a box all night, and is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as he's out of quarantine, he's getting paired with Valentine for my first breeding season ever! WooHoo! Come on Fireflies!

Him checking out the quarantine tub:

    Thanks for looking!

I'm normally not a huge fan of Pins, but yours is amazing! You're making me want one now

And good luck with your pairing and first breeding! Keep us updated on the process

    Is Valentine heavy enough?
    She's a looker, nice pastel.
She looks like a 1000 grams or so as a guess

Thanks! She's not nearly as bright as she was when I bought her, but I love her blushing and she's holding her color pretty well.

She weighed in at 1448g on Oct 7th, and is back to eating pretty much as much as I want to give her (she was on a bit of a hunger strike after my move in January). I've still got some time before my Fire's out of quarantine anyway, so I think I can get her up to size.

But you're right, she does look smaller in the picture. I must have taken it at a weird angle or with the wrong zoom or something.
