How to tell columbian from central american RTB?

hey guys, it's me again. So, I got a new hatchling ( I will post pics as soon as i find my camera.) It's an RTB but i have no clue what it is. Based on some pictures i have encountered, I'm torn between it being a columbian or a central american ( nicaraguan) ... I know columbians get bigger and are lighter in color while the nicarguans are much smaller and darker. BUT they both look the same as hatchlings! how do you tell?

What did you buy it as? Chances are that's what it is. You have to go on the word of the breeder. That being said, you can often make an educated guess based on physical characteristics. But again that would only be a guess.

definitly columbian very nice one, at that nice and light and clean. a nic at that size would be very dark.

Honestly, pure or not, either way you have a really pretty Boa constrictor imperator. Congrats.

also, to kalishnakov, not all Nics are dark as adults/subadult. The Bci's I keep are only Nicaraguans.

Definately a Columbian. In addition to being darker, Nic's have a much tighter pattern. The saddles are closer together, almost connected, hence the term "circleback".

Hahaha...it's funny that you corrected the spelling. BG notices that it's usually spelled with a U and not an O.

It's definitely what would be considered a Colombian and not a Central American.

I find myself typing "Columbian" half the time because I used to live in Columbia, MD. So it's a habit. I usually catch myself as I'm doing it though.
