My First Snake =)
I just got this guy today. Technically he probably doesn't have a clean pattern or a high yellow for a Mojave, but he still looks cute to me! He seems really sweet so far too. Thanks to the BP forum for tons of great info and helpful members.

Hi,
You need to get the tape out of there ASAP.
You can use a drop of glue from a glue gun instead.

Agreed, NEVER use tape in a snake habitat. Still, very cute little guy. I don't think I've ever seen someone get a morph (except maybe a pastel or albino) as a first snake.

Why is that? that you should never use tape in a snake habitat? i would think a drop of glue would be worse?
im a noob to the snake world! but they are just so fascinating!

Re: My First Snake =)
You don't want tape in the snake habitat because they can get stuck to it, and you risk hurting them while trying to get it unstuck, and they can't unstick themselves. If you use a glue gun, it should be alright, as long as they aren't in there while you're glueing and while its drying (obviously)

^^^ Yes, what she said.
If a snake gets stuck on a piece of tape, they can actually tear their skin off (and I mean entire pieces of skin, not just scales) trying to get away. Take the snake out, hot glue it, wait for it to cool off, then put the snake back in.

Don't worry about it, just glad we were able to solve the problem before it happened.
