    Question Where to get thermostat?

I'm planning on picking somthing up at the Tucson, Arizona reptile show, I dont know where to get a thermostat to plug my heat pad to. I dont want to spend alot of money to heat one snake. Is there anything at home depot, lowes, walmart, target, or ace hardware? If you have any other suggestions please feel free to comment.

    Thanks, have a nice day.

ya know some ppl use dimmers....but I personally think it is not that reliable and you have to constantly check it. Unfortunately there is really no "cheaper" way to do it. That is such an important thing you really don't want to skimp. I would recommend checking out reptilebasics.com as they have some reliable thermostats that you CAN count on for a pretty affordable price.

Thanks, I'm looking into it right now. I'm looking at a Johnson a 419 what does it mean when it says "It's not prewired?" I just want somthing with one plug to plug my zoomed heat pad into. Well check it out yourself =D

It means if you are like me, don't get it! Ha ha, I'm just kidding, it means you have to wire it yourself, so you need to know how to do electric work, obviously.

    Re: Where to get thermostat?

i used the reptitemp 500R for a year straight and never had any problems. only about 25 bucks and has a 2 plug outlet in case u get another snake. i just piked up the herpstat, its over 100 but worth it.
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

    Re: Where to get thermostat?

Well if you are anything like me...when the hubby is not around I need to plug and play. I use Herpstat and it is $100- by spyder robotics. I have to tell you....I LOVE THEM. Literally it is a plug and play and no worries. If you can afford that it is definetly a good one.

There is this one that is totally wired and ready to go and it is $80-I have heard good things about this brand as well.

By the way....what day are you going to the show....I am having a barbeque party after the show on Saturday.....if your are here you are totally welcome. Just a chance for everyone to meet each other....and of course talk reptiles...lol

I second Ride Red. I have the Hydrofarm, and for 1 heating device and 1 snake it is great!
