    Snake Racks

    hey im new to the herping community. Im sure there is another thread already answering this but, i have found several different answers so far. I want to make a rack with plastic tubs for my snakes. Are uth pads ok to use on plastic tubs? i have heard yes it is and i have heard no its not. So what are your thoughts?

    Flexwatt heat tape is typically used in racks

    yeah i did read about that as well. i guess i should have mentioned that the rack will be a little bit down the road. right now though i want to put my ball python in a plastic tub. so just one tub for now

    Yes, you can use a UTH on a tub but you would need a reliable thermostat.

    You can use flexwatt for single tub also - there's not much significant savings doing so and you have to "assemble" it yourself and you still need a reliable thermostat.

    a herpstat made by spyder robotics, and be careful if you're going to slide a tub in and out across your heat tape or UTH, they will wear and the results may not be good.

    herpstat will cost you about $100- ...that is what I use and it is awesome. But reptilebasics.com also has some even cheaper than that.
