    So far so good

Well my friend who I am hanging onto the bp for stopped by today to check up on thing and hang out for a little while. He was very impressed on how well I am taking care of her and how far along she has come since he dropper her off about a month ago. She has shed one time and that alone fixed er eye problem. she is being fed and watered regularly and her tank is being kept clean. (the last people he had watching her did non of this) I have downgraded her tank from a 72 gal to a 40 gal. I'm giving him the 72 back hat way when and if he takes her back i will get another bp and be all set up and ready to rock. she is looking much healthier and happier here than she has been in a long time. I even taught him a few things about bps that I learned from this site. He learned all he knew about snake keeping from a pet store that he worked at and they gave him a bum scoop on quite a few things. I was just glad to see that he approved of how i was taking care of her. I will be sad I when i takes her back i have grown attached.

    Re: So far so good

hey, i would recommend getting a younger BP. i like to watch them grow and get used to being around you. pastels are pretty cheap, 75 for males and 100-125 for females. cinnamons, pinstripes, spiders are all around 250. u can also get normals really cheap from breeders too, but when u decide to get one dont go to a petstore. get one from a breeder or one of the nice folks on here

oh and where in CT are you? im from MA so im just across the border

Pics are on my profile check them out. i am in the farmington area of ct. i haven't found any breeders in the area for snakes or rats. hence y i need to visit pet shops sometimes. i wold much rather get my next bp from a breeder or at least a rescue. i believe there is at least 1 in the general area.

    Re: So far so good

If you want to get your own BP, I would recommend a juvenile. That way you do not have to upgrade the hides, dish and/or enclosure more than once but you still get to watch him/her grow and get used to you. I purchased my yellow belly for $120, I think, and he is absolutely gorgeous! It is your personal preference, however, on what you like. Personally, I don't like many of the more popular morphs when they get older and their colors change...
