    What Camera Do You Use?

What kind of camera do you all use to take pictures of your snakes? I'm in the market but want one with a fast shutter speed so I can catch things such as tongue flickering and other various things with my other herps. What do you recommend? I'd like to keep it under $400.

    Thanks!

Re: What Camera Do You Use?

I use a Sony Cybershot H20 and I love it I get some decent shots and the camera cost me about $230. I would recommend it to anyone. Examples:

Wow! Those are great! Are those shots raw or edited?

This thread is making me wish I could go buy a new camera...

I have a Pentax K10D, it's nice but since I dont have 600$ to buy the lens I want I am stuck with what I have, which have focusing distances of around 3' Pretty terrible.

You can get it through Amazon or Ebay fairly easily I bet Those photos are brightened but otherwise untouched. Once I get a real light box set up I'm sure the brightening won't be needed but for now my poor man lightbox works well enough, lol.

I use the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28. It's an excellent camera with TONS of options and features. However, I got this one at an excellent deal and I'm not sure if you could get it now for under the $400. Anyway, good luck with finding your camera!

I have the Canon S90 and it's very versatile and pocketable. but would recommend canon G11 if you don't mind the size and do macro a lot.

OR, wait until sept-nov, for them to put out the new version for the aforementioned... the new cameras will have HD videos (hopefully with a better burst too)

OR an even cheaper alternative is the Canon sd4000, IT'S GOT SUPER SLOW MOTION VID = great for recording feeding

Sorry for being a nerd.. i sell this stuff...
