Start with high quality breeding stock, Produce high quality hatchlings, advertise, provide great customer service and like Ed said, treat it like a business by making a solid business plan and sticking to it.

    Re: building a business

The internet is a huge tool. If you can set up a website for your business, that would help a lot. Of course, you will need to create a name and logo and get it trademarked so nobody can steal it. When thinking of a name, don't use anything too complicated. You will want people to have an easy time remembering it. Also, going to reptile shows and handing out business cards would be good. Word of mouth is a huge tool too. If you sell a few snakes and treat your buyers great, they will refer you to their friends, or even mention you on the internet on websites like bp.net. I have also seen some breeders giving out free stuff at reptile shows like t-shirts, water bowls, hides, and care sheets if you buy a snake from them.

Good luck with your soon to be business!
