    May flies...June bugs in Ohio

ok so I am on vacation and right now staying in Oak Harbor right off Lake Erie. I gotta tell ya....these May flies/June bugs are killing me. There are millions of them and they are all over everthing. We tried to go out to the wildlife sanctuary and walk the boardwalk in the marshes. I wanted to find some snakes...frogs etc. OYE....there were so many we couldn't even walk through...heaven forfend you open your mouth or you would have a mouthful.
So...fellow Ohioans...how long is this going to last. Someone told me 2 weeks....I am soooo counting down.

Re: May flies...June bugs in Ohio

Sadly longer than 2 weeks from my experience. I get them all over the wall that the stairway from my second story apartment runs up against. So every time I have to walk up or down those stairs to get to my apartment the whole wall comes alive and they swarm me. Been dealing with it for about 3 weeks already and they are still out there like crazy. The steps are completely covered in dead may flies since they live around 24 hours or so I think before dying. And pulling a bunch of may flies from hip length hair is not a happy experience considering I really am a girl when it comes to any kid of bugs

I have a ton of June bugs mating with each other in my flower bushes

And they hit me in my face

Anyway, Ohio is way too hot this time of year. Me and a friend are going to a flea market this Saturday, can't wait to see how over-heated we get!

And we have a million frogs in our pool.
