Haha well if u think about it, they are a very aggressive and fast moving killing machine. I can see where this could cause problems

I have heard that even experienced venomous keepers think people who keep black mambas are crazy. ^_^

man i hope it stops were it at now, i know in DE you need a permit but to have most snakes. but and the permit does not allow breeding unless you have a seller permit ( which still does not cover the larger snakes like boas, and such), to brred them you need a acredited zoo permit and that takes a minium of 5 acres of land. in the northong counties it even harder to have a permit for any snake cause people are such cheickens over a lot of things.

I've actually lived in Wyoming before, and we are most likely moving back there in a few years, business and all...for the very reason that the reptile laws are virtually nonexistant, land is cheap, and both are likely to remain that way.
It is the least-populated State in the US. Wyoming folks like their independence, and even the average and less knowledgeable person knows that a 20 foot tropical snake has no chance of survival in the cold, bitterly dry windswept plains and deserts that make up most of the State...or in Yellowstone park, for that matter. ^_^ (Well, the average person in Wyoming knows this--it's probably harder for folks who haven't been there to imagine the climate. If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes--it will go from a balmy 70F and sunny, to a thunderstorm, to snowing by nightfall...seen it).
The unfortunate truth here seems to be that the more suitable the climate is for the reptiles we keep as pets, the less likely it is that legislation will remain reptile-friendly. So, I guess I would rather deal with insulation and climate control in my building than have to move my facility again because my business was outlawed.

Yeah. As far as I know, Oklahoma doesn't really have any rules. HSUS named Oklahoma as one of the worst states for exotic animal regulations last year..So I'm happy.

Ha you couldn't be more correct. I live in wyoming and our weather sucks. High winds, snow all the way up until april or may, 20 below zero winter days gotta love it lol

Don't forget the UV levels high enough to boil your eyeballs, and the summer heat--but it's a DRY heat. ;D
Actually, it's not really that horrible, especially in the summer, but the wind can put a little damper on some outdoor activities. I love Vedau Woo for camping.

I wonder how this law will affect the economy of the pet industry, such as prices? I don't keep any of the animals listed but I would like to have the open option if I ever desire to in the future. I wonder if all of those baby nile monitors that you see in pet stores each year will increase in price? Probably a good thing, if it happens.
