    Great Basin Gophers

My hubby and I were out hunting for Geodes in the western desert of Utah yesterday. On our way back in to home, I spotted a snake crossing the road and we stopped to get some pictures. I was almost sure it was a Gopher snake, but not 100%. It was not afraid of us at all and pretty much just hung out and let us photograph it.

We took off again and not even a mile down the road, we found another one just kind of sprawled in the dirt, enjoying the late afternoon sun. Same kind of snake. We took a few pictures of it too and then headed home. I figured I'd share them here. Enjoy!
