I'm very interested in the gold eyelash vipers.
What kind of licence would I need to own one? How much does it cost? I live in Arizona is it even possible to aquire it?
Thanks

I think you're out of luck. Sounds like you need permit, but doing a little searching it sounds like they aren't giving out permits to pet owners currently. Do you have experience with hots already? Not exactly the smartest thing to jump into without any kind of handling experience (as you will also hear echoed a thousand times on here)

Re: I'm very interested in the gold eyelash vipers.
You have to research your state laws, as well as local laws.
State law may allow, but your local laws may prevent certain species. I'm not sure though, so you need to check. The best way to do this is to contact Wildlife & Fisheries, and ask them if you need a venomous permit and what not. I believe you do, but I'm not a 100% sure.
-Venomous-
1.0 - Naja siamensis - Zeus (Black & White Spitting Cobra)
1.0 - Naja n. woodi - Hades (Black Spitting Cobra)
0.1 - Naja nigricollis - Athena (Black-necked Spitting Cobra)
coming at some point in the future
Naja annulata (Ringed Water Cobra)

Re: I'm very interested in the gold eyelash vipers.
Look, I share your pasion and would love to own a hot someday. From what you've posted in differant threads, your what? 15? plus you have (according to your posts)
little to no experience with snakes not to mention hots. Third, you are young so you probably are atleast some what more suseptible to the venom. I can name lots of reasons why this is not a good idea, but these are the biggest. And ofcourse this hobby shure does need more teenagers getting sent to the hospital from a venomus snake.
Now if that didn't convice you then I belive the standard advice is that you should get an aggresive non venomus snake such as a coach whip, water snake, etc and keep it for atleast a year. handle it, clean its encloser etc. now every time it bites you, take a little sticky note and write something like this and tape it to it's encloser:
"Today I would have almost died and would owe the hospital 30,000 give or take."
By the end of the year decide whether or not you still want to keep a hot.
BTW, I'm not some bitter 40yr old who looks down on kids, I'm thirteen years old and even I know you should wait. Sorry to be a downer, but you just got or are about to get a BP (I think?) just enjoy it for now ok?

Arizona and Nevada are the hardest states to own hots in but Arizona is the hardest here we can own Mexican Beaded Lizards and Albino Westerns but thats about it.

Even if it was possible to acquire that species, you would not be able to get one under the age of 18. You also would probably be unable to receive any required permits until the age of 18 as well.
I suggest you stick with non-venomous species for a while.

I was only curious if optaining a license was easy, I know im in no way ready to own a venomous snake.
