    What to feed hornworms

I picked a few blue hornworms and they are eating each other. They are not tomato hornworms so Im unsure of what to feed them. I have a mulberry tree in my yard I use to feed silkworms. Will the hornworms eats these leaves as well? What do you guys feed your hornworms?

    Re: What to feed hornworms

The hornworms I picked up are for my beardie by the way. They are medium size. Just trying to figure out what to feed them to keep them from eating each other until I feed them off to the beardie. Tomato hornworms will eat tomato plant leaves and bell pepper leaves. Does anyone know if the blue ones will also eat this? I already figured out they dont eat mulberry leaves. I offered those and they didnt touch them.

I think I remember someone telling me that the blue ones are still Tomato/Tobacco Hornworms, they were just fed something different that made them blue.
I would give the Tomato and Bell Pepper leaves a try.

If you give them any part of a tomato or pepper plan they become toxic to your beardie....

I advise you to research this over at beardeddragon.org.

That's weird, I've heard of MANY feeding them tomato and pepper leaves.

Yeah THEY can eat the leaves, but do not feed them to your beardie after. Tomato leaves are VERY toxic to bearded dragons!

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

    +1 NO TOMATO LEAVES.

I cannot comment on bell pepper leaves.

    Re: What to feed hornworms

Thanks guys. I did some more research and found out about the toxicity of the tomato leaves so I just havent fed them anything yet. I found out I can get a paste stuff to feed them but Id have to buy it in large quantities so I'll just leave them be. I only get a few at a time as more of a treat anyway.
