    -----What a shame-----

Earlier today my 4 year old nephew, my 9 year old son and me decided we were going on a hike through a section of the Appalachian trail that runs near our house. We had a great day, exploring some of the local flora and fauna that we happened to see, Until We happened to walk upon a rocky area and saw a shotgun shell, I looked around and right when I was ready to walk up the trail I saw it, someone took a shotgun and blew a harmless black rats head halfway off, im not even sure how long the poor thing was actually there suffering but I felt awful to see the poor creature dying this way so i had to finish him off while the kids went to the other part of the trail. We are all reptile lovers in this house so it had a negative impact on my son. Im also upset cause im wondering why someone would bring a firearm on the trail when its not allowed.
